STOWE,VT - Construction has officially begun on the new Base Camp at SprucePeak, the future base lodge that will serve as Stowe Mountain Resort’sprimary source for skier services. The facility will includerestaurants, a bar & lounge, indoor & outdoor fireplaces,rental & repair shops, retail, tickets, and year-round conference& event space. The beautifully designed building will be locatedadjacent to the new ‘Over Easy’ gondola, providing convenient access tothe slopes of both Spruce and Mount Mansfield. The proposed openingdate for the new base lodge is next ski season, 2008/2009. Spruce BaseCamp will be the second major component of Spruce Peak at Stowe toopen, along with Stowe Mountain Lodge which is opening this ski season.
